In making sure that patients will be kept clean and healthy, it is a great responsibility of the nursing assistants to maintain linen cleanliness. Linens can be sources of infection especially if they touch the floor or soiled due to urine and other waste. Make sure to replace linens as often as prescribed or as soon as they become soiled.
Contaminated linens should be disposed immediately by folding the contaminated side inward, carrying it away from you and putting it in the right bin. It is not only the role of the infection control to get rid of the infectious materials but it is everyone’s responsibility.
