Free CNA Classes in Jefferson, Texas
The YouthBuild program in Jefferson, Texas is accepting applications for a federally-funded nurse assistant training program. This short healthcare course is only for young individuals aged 17 to 24 who have dropped out of their high school education and has difficulty getting a stable job. Residents of Marion counties who are also qualified for the program are welcome to apply.
The application for the free CNA training program is until July 30, 2017, since classes will begin in August. Interviews will be conducted at Mt. Vernon on July 31 to August 2, and individuals who prefer walk-in interviews can visit the venue on August 8 and 9.
Selected applicants will be with the YouthBuild program for nine months to help them with their HSE or GED tests and to teach them the skills for nursing assistants. Two days a week are allocated for HSE or GED classes and another two days are intended for the CNA training program. Fridays are spent on service projects to build teamwork, increase community involvement, and develop leadership skills.
