York College offers a 130-hour CNA training program in New York covering classroom instruction, lab practice as well as an industry internship. Students in the program will know the basic functions of Certified Nursing Assistants as they will study a number of nursing concepts like anatomy and physiology, personal care skills, resident’s rights, basic nursing skills, mental health and social service needs, basic restorative services, care of cognitively impaired residents. They enjoy supervised clinical training with nursing home residents. Students will have lectures and supervision from instructors who are health professionals committed to helping the students obtain their goal of working as a CNA. Thus, students of the course will be prepared and equipped for the Certified Nursing Assistant examination provided by the New York State Department of Health.
Accredited CNA Programs in Manhattan Institute
Manhattan Institute is accepting applicants for CNA training program year round. Those interested in the course will undergo a two-part CNA training program in the NYC Medical Career Institute. The training is a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on experience so that students will be knowledgeable and skilled in their chosen profession. Manhattan Institute believes that Certified Nurse Assistants play an important role in the healthcare field since they provide care and emotional support to patients, nurses, doctors and other medical staff. They are the primary caregiver of patients, which is why, the institution wants to develop well-rounded CNA’s, ready to face the challenges of the work field.
Accredited CNA Programs at Isabella Geriatric Center
Isabella Geriatric Center is a healthcare institution in New York offering a free training program for Certified Nursing Assistants. The course is suitable for individuals who want to work as a CNA in their facility or other healthcare facilities as they teach, train and prepare every student for the New York State Licensing examination. Isabella Geriatric Center offers two training programs every year and only ten students are accepted per training. Successful candidates will undergo 100 hours of classroom lectures and practical training. They will also have a 24-hour internship in an accredited institution for the elderly. Applicants for the training program should be at least 18 years old, with a high school diploma or GED, a clean criminal record, and be physically and mentally fit. Accredited CNA Programs at Lehman College
Lehman College is offering an approved CNA training program in New York. They offer several types of courses-CNA 100 / 130 hours / COTC / $1295 (tuition for a total program that can be paid in three payments ), CNA 111 Anatomy and Physiology /15 sessions / 50 hours / $495, CNA 112 Fundamentals of Patient Care /15 sessions /50 hours /$495 and CNA 110 Clinical Rotation /10 sessions /30 hours /$305. The program is qualified for Workforce1 ITG Vouchers. Workforce1 Career Centers issue individual Training Grant (ITG) vouchers and provide funding for occupational skills training that leads to employment in New York City high-demand occupations.
Individuals who seek employment as a nursing assistant in hospitals, hospices, nursing homes and home health agencies can undergo the program and become eligible for the New York State licensing examination. They will go through different programs covering subjects like anatomy and physiology (50 hours), nursing home clinical rotation (30 hours), fundamentals of patient care (50 hours), CPR training and many others. At the end of the training, students will be able to dress the patient, provide a bath, feed, assist in toileting, take vital signs, ambulation assistance, catheter cleaning, range and motion exercises and other kinds of nursing procedures.
Accredited CNA Programs at Wesley Healthcare Center
Situated in Saratoga Springs, New York, Wesley Healthcare Center is accepting individuals who are committed and passionate to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in their own facility. The institution will pay the entire tuition fee on condition that successful applicants serve them for one year. They will teach basic nursing procedures like vital signs taking, range of motion exercises, activities of daily living and many more. They will also prepare each student for the upcoming licensing examination which entitles them to work as an eligible CNA.
Accredited CNA Programs at Loretto Health and Rehabilitation
Loretto Health and Rehabilitation is the perfect place to get a CNA training program without paying. The institution needs a lot of eligible nursing assistants and are offering free training programs for those who qualify. Candidates have to be a high school graduate, 17 years or older, fluent in English and physically fit. They should not have a criminal record in order to pursue the program and take the exam without hassle. Loretto Health and Rehabilitation is willing to offer employment right after passing the certification exam.
