| Description: |
This course prepares the student to provide basic personal care under the supervision of licensed nurses. It includes a minimum of 20 hours of skills practice and an additional 48 hours minimum of clinical experience in a local health care facility including hospitals and/or nursing homes. Total classroom skills practice and clinical time is 128 hours. Graduates are qualified to write the state exam to qualify to be listed on the registry as a certified nursing assistant (CNA). Employment opportunities for CNAs primarily include hospitals, home care and long term care facilities
