Shaving

Shaving is an essential part of being a well-groomed man. Often the men in CNAs care do need help with their faces and other hairy areas. Shaving requires a skill and a technique in order to avoid accidental cuts in the skin, which can cause an entry wound for opportunistic microorganisms.

To prevent such accidents from happening, use products, which are suitable for shaving.  Take things like shaving cream or just simply warm a towel and apply to areas that are to be shaved for a few minutes.

A warm towel not only functions as shaving cream, but it is also a money saver. However if possible always use both- first the warm towel, then shaving cream. Keep in mind that residents who have delayed clotting of blood may be at risk for bleeding when shaving therefore use an electric razor instead of manual razors.
