Why Should You Become a CNA?

Find out what CNAs are saying about their life as a nursing aide and how it has changed their lives for the better.

“Your life doesn't have to be a work in progress. Things can change in an instant, and I'm proof of it. In my teens, I was the girl with the dropout senior year of high school, a baby at sixteen years old, and not a whole lot going on. A jump here or there and that could have been me living out of a car. Now? Now I'm on track to get my Bachelor's degree in Nursing while working as a CNA at a nursing home part-time—and it feels good knowing that everything is getting better every day..”
Patricia Clark
CNA, Huntsville AL
“In my opinion, becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant is one of the best decisions I ever made. It has made me a much more positive person and has taught me to overcome many obstacles along the way. One of those obstacles was my fear of failure. There were so many things I wanted to achieve in life, but every time I tried something new or took on a new challenge, I would get scared and quit. Like most people, it seemed like an impossible task for me to enter into this field without being afraid that something would go wrong and ruin everything.”
Jo Dubrowsky
CNA, New York NY
“I entered college for a degree in English, but after taking an introduction to Nursing class my passion for helping people grew immensely. I had always wanted to help people, and the nursing field seemed like something that could do so very well. Now, five years later and with a lot of hard work and determination under my belt, I am a CNA. Not only did this move provide me with an exciting career that has led to amazing opportunities for personal growth and travel, but it also opened up doors where I was able to improve my overall quality of life.”
